Bring Jaidyn and Colton Home

On May 31, 2014, life changed for our family. That is the day Joey Cummins Henson passed away, unexpectedly. That is the day Jaidyn and Colton lost their Mommy. Unfortunately, these kids did not have a father to take them in and raise them as a father should, so we fought for and was awarded custody of both kids. In August of 2017, their father came to us and said he wanted the kids back to live with him, to be raised by their father, as it should be. We felt he was ready for this responsibility and the custody was switched back from us to the father. Long story short, the father abandoned Jaidyn and Colton again, after just 6 months of having custody of his own children. We were informed of this on Monday, February 26th, and by 9:00 pm that evening we had the kids picked up and back in our home. We have registered the kids for school in our hometown and both are very excited to be back in the school they attended for the three years they lived with us. Needless to say, the kids will now be with us until they are raised and grown, the hell they've been through is over. Unfortunately, we have to go through the legal process once again in order to obtain custody and not have the worry of the kids ever having to leave us again. Our attorney, who helped win our custody for us three and a half years ago is requiring us to pay a $3,500 retainer fee for his services. Unfortunately, we are not able to come up with this money ourselves and have no family willing to help us get these precious kids back in our custody forever. We know all of this was God's will and we know this is now Jaidyn and Colton's home forever. Our attorney has started the process but this could take weeks to accomplish. We are praying that we will find a way to pay all of the expenses and fees needed to keep these kids in a safe, loving home until they are adults.
