Our friend Brittany was diagnosed with Chiari Malformation Type 1 on August 3rd after several days of passing out and unbearable headaches which brought her into the ER and ultimately MUSC. Her skull is too small for her brain and her cerebral tonsils are leaking down her spiral column.
So far, this has brought about the following obstacles:
- 8 ER visits within two weeks
- MRI and CT scans
- Ambulance transportation
- Severe Headache management
- Nausea/Vomiting management
- Loss of feeling in her hands/fingers/feet/toes
- Missing work without pay
She will visit the Neurosurgeon Tuesday August 14th for a plan of action. This could include brain surgery in the near future.
She has worked so hard to be a productive member of society; working full time, multiple jobs, while keeping up her own apartment she shares with her precious pup Asher. She is the truest friend anyone could ask for. She gives without expectation. She is kind and humble. She needs our help. LET'S BRING IT FOR BRITTANY!
