Just a week ago, my dad was running in the La Virgen de Guadalupe marathon, full of life and hope. Now, it’s hard to put into words the pain and devastation our family is feeling. Yesterday, my dad lost his home to a fire—a place that held years of memories, comfort, and love. In an instant, everything he had was taken away.

With Christmas just around the corner, a season meant for warmth, family, and joy, it feels especially heartbreaking to see him without a home, without the simple things we so often take for granted. While we are beyond grateful that he is safe, the loss is overwhelming. Starting over is never easy, and doing so during the holidays only makes it harder.

The money raised will go toward helping him find a new place to call home, new furniture, and all the essentials he needs to begin rebuilding his life. No amount is too small, and we deeply appreciate your prayers, support, and generosity during this incredibly difficult time.

Hace apenas una semana, mi papá participaba en la maratón de La Virgen de Guadalupe, lleno de vida y esperanza. Hoy, es difícil encontrar las palabras para describir el dolor y la devastación que siente nuestra familia. Ayer, mi papá perdió su casa en un incendio, un lugar que guardaba años de recuerdos, comodidad y amor. En un instante, todo lo que tenía desapareció.

Con la Navidad tan cerca, una época dedicada a la unión, el calor familiar y la alegría, es especialmente desgarrador verlo sin un hogar, sin las cosas más simples que a menudo damos por sentadas. Aunque estamos profundamente agradecidos de que esté a salvo, la pérdida ha sido abrumadora. Empezar de nuevo nunca es fácil, y hacerlo durante las fiestas lo hace aún más difícil.

El dinero recaudado servirá para ayudarlo a encontrar un nuevo hogar, comprar muebles y cubrir las necesidades básicas que necesita para comenzar a reconstruir su vida. Ninguna cantidad es pequeña, y apreciamos profundamente sus oraciones, apoyo y generosidad en este momento tan difícil.
