Bring Garrard Conley to NWA

Donation protected
Help us bring LGBTQ+ writer and public intellectual Garrard Conley to northwest Arkansas.

Conley wrote the memoir "Boy Erased" about being the son of a conservative Christian preacher and experiencing gay conversion therapy in Arkansas. He works as a journalist, pod-caster, and LGBTQ+ public intellectual in New York City. "Boy Erased" was turned into a film last year (starring Russell Crowe and Nicole Kidman).

Conley would come the week of March 2, 2020 as part of the NWACC Spring Arts & Culture Festival, and participate in various events in SACF that would be free and open to the public. SACF is a four-day festival at Northwest Arkansas Community College that brings together artists, academics, and community members to perform, speak, and reflect on a theme. This year's theme is 20/20 vision. For more on SACF, see the NWACC SACF web site . NWACC is a community college in Bentonville, AR.

Any excess funds would be donated to Northwest Arkansas Equality and other LGBTQ+ organizations in northwest Arkansas
