Hello! My name is Malachi Diaz, and I’m working with the Happy GilMo Disc Golf Club and local disc golfers to bring a safe, community-friendly disc golf course to Gilroy at Christmas Hill Park (Ranch Side Addition).

Before anything permanent happens, we’re doing this the right way with a supervised pilot play-through using temporary baskets and safety signage to show the community, and City staff/council, how disc golf can fit in this space. Disc golf is a low-cost, low-impact sport that gets people outside, walking, and building community across ages and skill levels.

The challenge is that the City requires $1,000,000 in event liability insurance for the pilot day, and that insurance is our biggest hurdle. Funds raised here will go directly toward the required insurance, plus basic safety/awareness signage and minimal event supplies to keep the day organized, respectful, and safe for all park users.
