In Cultured Company sow the seeds of peace, conflict resolution, reconciliation, collaboration, and dialog in young black and Latinx leaders in order to move from a divided past towards a shared future.
When I founded In Cultured Company , "experts" told us that we would ever be able to get Haitians and Dominicans in the same room together. In fact, each time we've done a workshop, it's sold out within days by word of mouth alone.
Through our Decolonizing Hispaniola workshops, we have created a space for people like you and me- the dreamers and the disruptors who refuse to be restricted by the limits of other people's prejudices. It's become a space for healing, growing, to build bridges where others have built barriers.
Decolonizing Hispaniola began as workshops only in NYC. This year, we intend to expand throughout the city and beyond! Your support will allow us to provide more members of the community not only in NYC but Miami, Boston, and beyond with free, in-depth workshops that build bridges where others have built barriers. Each dollar that you give will go towards curating unique experiences, facilitating intimate gatherings, and designing educational tools and resources to deconstruct the divisions that have defined the diaspora across historic chasms and promoting transformational change in the next generation of leaders.
