Hello everyone. I have been living in New York for the past 10 years, and have recently completed my Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts I have been feeling the undeniable urge to leave the city and return back to my roots. I am writing this to ask for help which is quite a struggle for me.
I have been thinking for quite some time that New York just isn't for me but was determined to finish school and now with this no longer an obstacle, it has become a real possibility. During the last visit home to Alaska, it really hit home that I just need to be closer to my family to be able to help my mother. I have never really been happy in New York, although I have tried my hardest. Now that I'm older I've realized how important is it to be closer to family, especially in terms of helping my mother.
My plan is to ship a small amount of my things, my bike and art supplies. I am hoping to find a position at home using my degree, and if that's not possible, I do have a couple of options in Seattle, and will be so much closer to my loved ones. I hope to go home by the end of August. The funds I am trying to raise will go towards the move, and getting on my feet to start over.
Please don't feel pressure to bring me home, but if you can help me in any way I would be truely grateful!
