</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Así nació La Mesa de Basima.</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
No solo enseño a preparar comida palestina.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<ul>
<li>La Mesa de Basima ya existe.
</li>
<li>Ya ha recibido a personas.
</li>
<li>Ya ha creado comunidad y familia.
</li>
<li>Ya ha generado interés real.
</li>
</ul>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong> Cómo Quiero Devolver Este Apoyo !</strong>
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<ul>
</li>
</ul>
<div><br />
</div>
<ul>
</li>
</ul>
<div><br />
</div>
<ul>
</li>
</ul>
<div><br />
</div>

</div>
<div>My name is Mohammed Njoum, and La Mesa de Basima was born from loss, memory, survival, and love.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Almost two years ago, I moved to Spain. But I did not move for the luxury of “starting a new life abroad.” I moved because I had to. I left behind my home, my work, my people, my language, my comfort, and everything familiar after years of instability, exhaustion, and trying to survive.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I packed my life into two half-empty suitcases and arrived in a country where I did not speak the language, in a region far from everything and everyone I knew. I had to start again from zero — not only financially, but emotionally, socially, and personally.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In that loneliness, I found myself returning to the one place that always made sense to me: the kitchen.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>La Mesa de Basima is named after my mother, Basima. Her kitchen in Palestine was never just a place where food was prepared. It was a place where people were welcomed, where stories were told, where love was expressed without needing many words, and where every dish carried memory, patience, and care.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>When I moved to Spain, I carried her recipes with me. But more than the recipes, I carried the feeling of her table: the warmth of being hosted, the generosity of Palestinian homes, the smell of food being cooked slowly, and the stories that live inside every dish.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>That is how La Mesa de Basima began.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>At first, I invited people into my own place in Gijón for intimate Palestinian cooking experiences. For a few hours, we cook together, talk together, eat together, and share stories. I do not only teach people how to make Palestinian food. I try to make them feel what it means to be welcomed into a Palestinian home. We cried, we laughed and we shared that rollercoaster lunch/dinner at it's best and worst.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I share my mother’s recipes, my personal memories, how I found my way into the kitchen, what it means to live far from home, and how Palestine can be understood through food, hospitality, family, and human connection.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>What started as a small personal project became something much bigger than I expected.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>People came for the food, but they stayed for the feeling. They connected with the stories, the warmth, the honesty, and the experience of discovering Palestine beyond the news, beyond politics, and beyond pain. La Mesa de Basima grew in Gijón, then reached Madrid, and now there is growing interest from other parts of Spain and Europe.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This campaign is not about funding an idea that only exists on paper.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>La Mesa de Basima already exists.
</div>
<div>It has already welcomed people.
</div>
<div>It has already built community and Family
</div>
<div>It has already created demand.
</div>
<div>It has already proven that Palestinian food and storytelling have a place here.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Now, I am ready to take the next step: to give this project a real, stable home.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The goal is to grow La Mesa de Basima into a small Palestinian food and cultural space in Asturias — a place where people can come not only to eat, but to experience Palestinian hospitality, cook together, hear stories, and feel part of a table that carries memory, identity, and love.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Your support will help cover the essential costs needed to build this next chapter properly: kitchen equipment, storage, permits, furniture, tableware, basic setup, branding, ingredients for the first events, and the practical needs required to host people in a safe, professional, and sustainable way.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>But this project is not only about receiving support. It is also about giving back.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As La Mesa de Basima grows, I want part of this table to remain rooted in generosity. That is why I plan to offer community meals, donate a number of meals to people who may not be able to afford the full experience, and create small handmade gifts and gestures of appreciation for the people who support this journey.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Every contribution helps bring Basima’s table to life.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>You are not just helping open a food space. You are helping build a home for Palestinian memory in Spain. You are helping preserve my mother’s recipes. You are helping create a space where people can gather, cook, eat, listen, and understand Palestine through something deeply human.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Food does not solve everything. But sometimes, a table can become a place of healing, belonging, and connection.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you for helping me bring Basima’s table to life — from my mother’s kitchen in Palestine to a home for Palestinian food, stories, and hospitality in Spain.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>How I want to give back !
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>La Mesa de Basima was built on hospitality, generosity, and the feeling of being welcomed at home. So this campaign is not only about receiving support — it is also about giving something back to the people who help bring this table to life.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Everyone who contributes €50 or more will be remembered as one of the Founding Supporters of La Mesa de Basima. Their name will be included on a special thank-you wall, card, framed print, or digital page as part of the first chapter of this project.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>When the space opens, the first 100 guests will also receive a small Palestinian handmade gift or symbolic item as a gesture of gratitude and welcome. It may be a recipe card from Basima’s kitchen, a Palestinian postcard, a small handmade table token, or another simple piece that carries the spirit of Palestine.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Supporters will also receive a digital recipe card from Basima’s kitchen, with the story behind one Palestinian dish. This is my way of sharing a piece of my mother’s table with every person who helps this project grow.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This table was never meant to be only a business. It was built to welcome people, share stories, preserve memory, and create connection. Every contribution helps me do that in a more stable, beautiful, and generous way.
