Bring Back the Joy of Christmas

Donation protected
Did you already start planning your Christmas holidays? Did you book your flights to visit your family or did you start buying some gifts?
Maybe you have, maybe you haven’t. But I am sure you will have a wonderful Christmas surrounded by your loved ones.

Over 58,000 people are homeless in Los Angeles on any given night. Women and children represent 28% of those sleeping on the streets, in cars or temporarily on the couches of family and friends.
There are many ways a woman can become homeless: a shattered childhood, a chance encounter with a dangerous person, a failure in the system or simply a wrong turn at the wrong time.

Given these numbers, it is easy to say that not everyone is as lucky as we are. This is why this December, we have the mission to bring back the joy of Christmas to the women and children at Alexandria House , a housing continuum for women and children who are homeless.

The women who are currently living at Alexandria House have very little. They can’t remember the last time they put on brand new clothes or the feeling of laying down on a brand new set of sheets. They are extremely thankful to the community who helps them and offers a hand every day, but we want to put a smile back on their faces during one of the most special holidays: Christmas.

Our mission is to provide the resources for these women to have the ability to give their children the Christmas every child deserves, but to also give the mothers back the feeling of being able to provide that joy to their children on Christmas morning.

With your donation, we will purchase several gift cards* that will be given to the mothers currently living at Alexandria House. This will allow these women to feel the same joyous feeling that you experience inside when your children open the gift Santa left under the tree the night before.

*Why gift cards?
There is something about being able to go out and buy your kids want they have been asking for, or even dreaming about. The thought behind it, the decision making, and even to the wrapping gives mothers an irreplaceable feeling.

We appreciate your donation and we welcome you to share with your family and friends.
