Never in my life would I have thought I would need to do this...
I met my husband on Facebook in 2010. It was the most awful time in my life, and I was trolling some page, when suddenly I had this funny guy join me. He added me as a friend, and from there our relationship grew. I was a mess. He picked me up, dusted me off, and told me I was wonderful a billion times until I believed him. We got married last December, in the first place he ever took me to, my favourite place in the entire world. He is an amazing husband, father and step father, and I can't imagine being married to anyone kinder, funnier, smarter or more generous than my husband.
At the end of September, Jamie went to the Dr with health concerns. Our Doctor immediately suspected something bad, and sent him for tests. He went back to work (Jamie was working FIFO) and when he returned home he went for an ultrasound. He was told there and then to go straight back to the Doctor. We were told that he needed to go to Fiona Stanley the very next day, they needed to operate. We were told after they operated that he had cancer. It had spread to his stomach and the lymph nodes. We have now been told that he needs intensive chemotherapy. Almost three months of six days a week. Two months ago we moved two and a half hours from city to start a new life in the bush, closer to my step children and all of Jamie's family. It is impossible to do the drive back and forth every day from Wagin to Murdoch, so we need to move back to Perth in the next week. A wonderful woman has offered to rent us her house, but we have used every extra cent to go back and forth to appointments, and Jamie has run out of sick leave. We're currently trying to organise Centrelink payments, but anyone's guess is as good as mine as to how long that will take. I almost didn't start this page, it feels humiliating and we both hate asking people for help. But I have come to the conclusion that if I don't, we are in serious trouble. Any money raised will go towards moving us back to Perth, rent and bills until we are able to get on our feet. Every single cent will be appreciated and accepted with love and thanks. I really just want my husband well, and I will do anything to make sure he's here for as long as possible. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
