Help Ma Briggs Farwell Her Third Son

Donation protected

Our thoughts and prayers are with Ma Briggs and her family who will sadly see the life of another son/brother end way too soon. Paul Briggs will join his younger brother, Barry Briggs who was unfortunately killed in a truck accident 10 years ago, along with his older brother, John Briggs who unfortunately lost his life to Non-Hodgkinson Lymphoma 21 years ago, and their father who passed away more recently.

In April 2014, Paul was diagnosed with Merckel Cell (cancer). He went through a tough time with Chemotherapy but he 'took it on the chin' with his inner strength and calming personality. He celebrated his bone marrow 100 days with a small gathering of family and friends, where many laughs and memories were made.

From travelling to and from his home at Fernvale to medical appointments at Brisbane, which was sometimes daily, along with weekly hospital visits, he was still able to spend quality time with his family and mates. He was always seeking to enrich his experiences and quality of life, which included camping and 4wding at Rainbow Beach, caravaning, watching jet boats and spending time with his girlfriend, Samantha.

Suddenly over the last few weeks Paul has been hit with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia which has resulted in him having MDS Myelodysplastic Syndrome. This unfortunately will be what will end the life of our dear son, brother, boyfriend, cousin and best friend.

Imagine the most kind natured, beautiful family you have ever met, well that is the Briggs family. They have stuck together through many struggles in life and unfortunately now is one of those times they need all of our support.

Over the last 21 years, this rilisilent family have seen more tragedy within their own family than most have seen in a life time.

As the family were also hit very hard with the 2011 floods and are slowly recovering, we feel that they have endured enough loss. We would love to be able to help support them even if a little bit to assist with associated costs of the coming week/s.

Please note, It is with much sadness that we wish to advise that Paul Kenneth Briggs passed away peacefully on 30 June 2017 at 2:20am, surrounded by loved ones.
