Brielle Kelley, national award-winning author of The Little Skunk Who Was Afraid to Stink, has set out to make a difference in children's lives by instilling awareness of self-esteem, diversity, and authentic friendship through literature.

Brielle grew up in Fort Collins, Colorado, where she attended a bilingual elementary school and became fluent in the Spanish language.  She graduated summa cum laude from Creighton University with a double major in Spanish and Psychology, and has put her efforts and education into spreading love through literacy, and was fortunate to receive the National Moonbeam Award for Excellence in Children's Literature for bilingual books. She has toured schools across the country and with each presentation, Brielle strives to instill confidence and encourages students to reach for their dreams -- igniting inspiration and positivity.

In addition, Brielle recently completed a year of service in Ecuador as a volunteer for Rostro de Cristo , an organization centered on accompaniment of those living on the margins, outside of Guayaquil. She fell in love with her work-site and chose to stay another six months teaching English at a non-profit bilingual school that provides high-quality education and opportunities for children coming from minimal resources.

Living alongside the most impoverished and marginalized residents in this area, she learned the value of authentic friendship, simplicity, and education.  Brielle continues to provide educational support to children and teachers in various schools while immersing herself in the Latino community and culture, and hopes that her book and presentations will continue to be a vehicle for forging harmony in our diverse country.

With this experience, Brielle welcomes your contribution in joining her in her passion to continue the importance of spreading this message to children's lives;  educating awareness, building confidence, self esteem and diversity through literature.

Brielle will commence the "Cultivating Character with Characters" National Bilingual Book Tour at the end of March. Delivering presentations to schools across the country, she strives to plant seeds of hope and inspiration to every child who hears her message.  Brielle is  donating all proceeds from the sales of her book to children's charities.

Please join her in this mission in prayer, visits to her website, and if possible, contributions to her fundraiser through this page. Every dollar makes a difference in  offering the gifts of love for literacy and diversity-awareness to our children across the country.
