<div>Hi I am Merlene. In late July, I’ll be taking on the incredible challenge of climbing Mount Fuji — not just for the adventure, but to raise support for something I believe in deeply: the Paddy Ashdown Policy Research Forum (PAF).
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>PAF a think-and-action tank was inspired by the life and legacy of Lord Paddy Ashdown – a passionate internationalist and bridge-builder. The forum brings together bold thinkers, policy experts, and leaders from East and West to tackle the biggest issues of our time: climate change, inequality, conflict, and rapid tech transformation.

<div><br />
</div>
<div>Why This Climb?
</div>
<div>Because climbing a mountain is nothing compared to bridging global divides. This isn’t just a personal test — it’s a call to action.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I’m using this moment to:
</div>
<div>• Raise awareness for PAF’s unique and vital work
</div>
<div>• Invite friends, colleagues and changemakers to support a forward-thinking cause
</div>
<div>• Spark conversations about global cooperation at a time we need it most.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Why Support PAF?
</div>
<div>Because we need more than talk, PAF takes real, evidence-based ideas and puts them into action — by fostering dialogue, publishing independent research, and shaping practical policy that responds to complex global challenges.
</div>
<div>Your donation will go directly towards:
</div>
<div>• Research that influences real-world policy
</div>
<div>• Projects that unite voices from across borders
</div>
<div>• Solutions that look beyond short-term fixes to long-term change
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Every Step Counts
</div>
<div>Whether it’s £5 or £50, your support makes a real difference — not just to me as I climb, but to the work PAF can do long after I’ve reached the summit.
</div>
<div>Let’s make this more than a climb. Let’s build something lasting — together.
