This summer I'm going on an adventure of a life time, will you consider joining me in support?
I'm a Volunteer Young Life leader. I love Jesus and I love High School kids, and one of my greatest desires is that the high school kids whom I love would come to love Jesus. There's a group of girls that I get to lead this summer on an adventure called Beyond Malibu. We're going to be spending July 11-20 backpacking in British Columbia. This trip is a discipleship trip: I get to literally spend ten days with a group of girls sleeping under the stars, pooping in holes (yup), climbing a mountain, walking across waterfalls, busting out Miley Cyrus' "The Climb" (naturally), laughing, smiling, crying, talking about life and jesus, hitting breaking points, encouraging, having the time of our lives. I am incredibly excited about it. These girls love Jesus already, so we get to do life together that week and grow closer toward Christ, learning and planning on how we can apply to our lives what we're learning about ourselves and Christ. IT'S GONNA BE SWEETER THAN I CAN PUT TO WORDS.

The cost of a trip for a student is just about $1500. Being a volunteer leader, I don't have to pay quite that much, but I do have to pay a good chunk of that. Some of the girls joining me are going to struggle to fork over that much money (I'm sure you can imagine that. $1500 is a lot of dough for a high schooler!)

SO. This is my plan and this is what I'm asking of you:

Prayerfully: Will you commit to praying for this trip?
Slowly but surely God is teaching me, that prayer is what really changes things. Prayer is what we depend on. Prayer is the greatest kind of support you can offer- I mean that. It is because people pray, that lives are changed. It will be because you pray, that we travel safely. It will be because you pray, that lives are changed on this trip. So will you? As I type this, I ask God to soften your heart for us and pray. I really do. I want you to praaay! For life change, for me, for the girls, for safety, for laughter, for relationship building... will you?

Financially: Will you donate?
The goal you see set on the top of my page is ambiguous, truthfully. I'd love to actually raise $7000. More than that, I'd like to raise $10,000. The money is needed. Young Life continues at RB because people put their money behind it. It's run on community support. So after my trip is paid, I'll look at how the girls are doing with fundraising. If someone is struggling, then your money will go to them. After that, it will go to Riverside Brookfield Young Life. We take a summer camp trip every year, and that's $750 per kid. We're going to Minnesota this year, and there are kids that can't afford to go. One girl whom I love has a dad who's been laid off, so the idea of sending her to camp for $750 is a tough pill to swallow. So your money will go to kids like her. My goal is that part of the money raised on this page would cover one kid to go to camp.Maybe you aren't into all this Jesus talk. But you got to this page somehow. Will you trust me? Trust me that this is worth supporting. At the bottom of this post is my phone number and email address. Give me a call, I'd really like to chat with you about all this. Really really.Formality might suggest I tell you exactly where your penny is going. I can tell you that 8% of everything raised gets taken from this site and goes to "gofundme." Kinda stinks, but you can send me a check or cash and it will end up with the rest of the money that goes to YL! I can't promise where your exact pennies are going because I'm not exactly sure how God will use this page to provide for us. It might be a bust and maybe no one will donate, but I have a feeling He just might show off on this page. What I can promise you, is that God is going to use this money to change lives, my own included. So thanks for considering donating. I really mean it. Young Life is near and dear to my heart, as God really used this organization to grab hold of my soul a few years ago. I am a witness and an example. God uses RBYL to change life. I'm grateful you're a part of it.
