Bridge To Middle School Scholarship

Middle School can be an incredibly difficult time in a young persons life. We all remember those awkward moments, not knowing anyone, new school, new teachers, new expectations.  It can be further complicated when you don't have the resources that can help you get off to a great start.  Things like books,  clothes, backpacks, a computer, basic school supplies can help a kid feel prepared and ready for the challenge. 

The Bridge to Middle School Scholarship is designed to help 5th grade students from Cox Academy Elementary school in East Oakland to be well prepared for Middle School.  The kids of East Oakland deserve the same opportunities as we'd want for our own kids, and you can help some lucky kids have just that.  5 youth who excel in Academics, Citizenship and Positive Participation will each receive 1000.00 towards school supplies for Middle School.   After promotion from 5th grade the winners will use the scholarship money to purchase the supplies necessary to get them off to a great start.
