Shared Harvest and Kroger Feeding the Hungry campaign provide fresh food to our participants; all we must do is pick it up and distribute it. We do not have grants or outside funding and are not connected with the 211 program. We are a volunteer food pantry, run and supported by volunteers and donors like you.
In 2019 we received a gift of a large 16-passenger van that has enabled us to pick up large amounts of food. This van came to us at the perfect time. Our numbers of those in need have grown so have the food donations, and we needed a way to transport it all! This van was in working condition and will last us a long time.
However, the van was vandalized and parts were stolen rendering the undriveable. A quick and partial repair was performed to get by, but the full repair is essential to keep it running properly.
Your support is greatly needed to repair our van and bring it up to code so we can continue to pick up large amounts of food. Currently we are using our personal vehicles, but that is only a temporary solution. We are loading and hauling over a thousand pounds of food at a time and currently have to use multiple cars in order to get it all back to the food pantry in time to distribute.
We plan to use a local mechanic with exceptional references and experience.
Together all of your donations, no matter how small or how large, will enable us to continue serving anyone and everyone who needs food. We are here to make up the difference and bridge the gap in serving the community. Will you be a part of this work and bridge the gap in our finances so we can continue?
Join us in our joy and let us work together to repair our van allowing us to continue the work that is necessary in our community.
