Help give hope to a blind 25 year old wife to be...

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to read why I am starting this GoFundMe to help a beautiful, bright young woman named Mary who lost her sight at the early age of 25. I want to provide some emergency assistance for Mary and her soon to be husband Andrew, who has been taking care of Mary for over 2 weeks after she lost 95% of her vision almost overnight. Mary and Andrew have been working hard to save for their marriage and honeymoon to Bali at the end of this summer but will have to postpone it due to the hospital bills, physical therapy and random expenses needed to help Mary navigate a world with very little light.
Two weeks ago, Mary lost her eyesight almost overnight due to a disease called Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension, which doctors say has an unknown source. This disease caused Mary to overproduce more than double the amount of spinal fluid putting pressure on her brain and optic nerve leading to the sudden loss of almost all of her vision.
At age 18, Mary left her home to pursue her education and get her own place where she could hopefully travel the world and one day open her own restaurant. With her independent, hard working, optimistic attitude, she has already achieved a life's worth of accomplishments before hitting her mid 20's. Starting as a regular production worker at Tesla, she quickly rose through the ranks becoming a Supervisor of the Model 3 Battery Pack Line which eventually lead her to become a Process Engineering Supervisor by the time she was 24. While she was quickly climbing the ladder at Tesla, she was also going to school attaining an associates degree in business by herself with the hopes of one day opening up her own restaurant called 'Marys Munchies.'
By her side through this journey then and now, has been her hard working and kind hearted fiance, Andrew who fell in love with Mary at Tesla at first sight. Together they traveled as much as they could and shared the love of music by going to EDM concerts while hoping one day they could start a family and travel the world.
After Mary lost her sight, she told her doctors that "all I want to do is to be able to see my first born child." Andrew mentioned that when he heard that, it absolutely broke his heart and he knew he would do anything he can to keep them afloat make her only wish come true.
Andrew says, "she is such a bright light and beautiful woman inside and out that she brightens up any room she walks into and the best part about her is that she doesn't know how beautiful she really is."
Andrew and I are cousins and grew up living next door to each other in San Diego and nothing has stopped him from doing the things that make him happy. But I can tell he is tired and needs our help. They both are staying as optimistic as possible but need any help they can get to continue their journey of love through the most difficult time of their life's.
Mary ended up in the hospital only 36 hours after losing her sight and ended up staying there for over a week. Multiple neurosurgeons assessed her condition and decided that adding a shunt or drainage tube to her brain that runs through her body and exits into her abdomen where she can release the spinal fluid herself, would be the best attempt to restore Marys sight and relieve the pressure in her brain.
The surgery went smoothly, but her vision did not come back as quick as they hoped it would. As of now she is slowly gaining small percentages of vision and says she can see maybe 20% out of one eye and 10% in the other. Andrew hopes to make enough money from this campaign to cover the hospital bills, get a service dog and whatever is left over, he wants to go towards getting married late this summer in Lake Tahoe, one of their favorite places to travel too.
With all of our help, together we can hopefully make Mary's recovery, their dream of traveling the world together and starting a family not such a distant reality. Whether it's $20 or $1000 dollars, I know Mary and Andrew will always love each other and make the best of what they have, but maybe we can all come together and make the hardest time in their lives just a little easier. I hope you decide to make that decision with me and know that love is all they will ever need to keep their dreams alive. Thank you for your time, donations and keeping them in your thoughts, I know they will appreciate all the help they can get.
