Bricks Medical Journey

My mom and I lost our beloved brother and son, Brodie 6 years ago. One day Brodie came home with Mr. Brick and we fell in love. When Brodie passed away, my mom and I became Brick's owners and we are so incredibly grateful for his love and the piece of Brodie that he holds so near and dear to our hearts.
Brick has been dealing with ongoing skin issues for a couple years and has been on several medications but nothing seemed to be working. Back in Sept, 2020 Brick's skin started to flare up in bumps, he was loosing his hair from being very itchy. He was brought to the emergency room and with the help of the incredible vets he was referred to a dermatologist, Dr. Alison Foster who has been working closely with us. Hundreds of dollars later Brick was diagnosed with an auto-immune disease called Pemphigus and has been on all sorts of medication including steroids. His skin is slowly getting better but unfortunately with some recent blood work, an ultrasound, and CT Scan they found that his gull bladder to be abnormal and masses are growing in his ducts which could be cancerous and without the proper treatment, we will never know. They told us that they could operate on him and remove his gull bladder or we could simply do medical management and do bi-weekly bloodwork check-in's. Due to funds, we opted for medical management.
On Jan. 4th, 2021, Brick went in for a re-check for his blood work to see how he was responding to his medication. The blood work showed that his white blood cell count is low and his liver enzymes are high. Dr. Foster recommended that we do a liver biopsy which would cost upwards of $2000-3000. Unfortunately without the proper tests and procedures, we are not able to know for sure what is going on.
It breaks our hearts to know that something could potential happen to him if we don't get these answers. We have our goal set a $6000 and the funds donated will go towards his medication, recheck appointments, and a liver biopsy. My mom and I want to know that we have done everything we can for our boy as he has done so much for us.
Thank you so much for the support, this means the absolute world to my mom and I.
