Bricks of Hope - Build a future one brick at a time
Meet Kenny, a spunky and loving 13-year-old from Kayonza, Rwanda. Kenny, who has Down syndrome, lives with his parents and two siblings and is known for his infectious smile and warm hugs. Despite facing challenges, Kenny's enthusiasm for learning has always shone brightly—he especially loved math and learning to read and write during his first year of school.
Unfortunately, Kenny struggled to keep up with the pace of his peers. Feeling frustrated, he began wandering from his classroom to visit friends, which led to the school asking him to leave. It broke Kenny's heart to leave behind his friends, siblings, and a chance to learn.
But hope is never far away! Last August, we proudly opened the Channel of Hope Ability Center, one of Rwanda's first schools dedicated to children with disabilities. Kenny was overjoyed to join our inaugural class, and his love for learning has blossomed once again.
Now, Kenny and his friends need YOUR help to build a new school!
Currently, our students and teachers are studying on an open porch, exposed to the elements. We’re raising funds to build a proper school building and the essential perimeter fence—and you can be part of this transformative journey!
How You Can Help:
For just $11—the price of two cups of coffee—you can buy a personalized brick to help build this school. Each brick will feature vibrant colors and your name or message (maximum 12 characters per brick) to inspire our students as they chase their dreams.
