My name is Varrick Jay and I am teaming up with Brickhouse Cinema to put on an outdoor local music festival in Foley, MN.
Brickfest, as I'm calling it, will be July 11th in beautiful downtown Foley. There are 18 bands set to play going from 10 in the morning to 10 at night. All the bands are from the Minnesota local scene and all genres are represented. Acoustic to metal and everything in between.
It's an all ages event and it is completely free to the public. I want to spread awareness of all the great local bands this scene has to offer, especially in an area where there aren't many places left to play. Brickhouse Cinema will be selling food and drink during the event and the bands will have merch you can buy directly from them but the event itself is 100% free.
Because I wanna keep the event free to the public, pretty much all the expenses are coming out of my pocket. The biggest ones being renting the stage, merch tables, sound system, and getting the neccesary permits for an outdoor show. I am setting up this gofundme campaign to help offset the cost.
I wanna make it clear that even if zero people donate to this campaign the show is still happening. The bands are locked in, the flyers are up, there's even a facebook event. It's happening. RSVP now if you haven't so I know how many cupcakes to make! I've had a lot of people ask how they can help with the event and honestly if you really wanna help make the show the best it can be, this is the way to do it.
Literally any amount you want to donate will help significantly. Even the smallest donation will go a long way. I'll be forever in debt to you, you'll for sure get a shoutout during the show, you'll be part of history, and you can brag to all your friends saying you actually helped support the local scene!
