Brian’s Home Destroyed by Windstorm

Brian grew up in Kamloops and relocated to Saltspring Island a few years ago. While he found a career and a community there, Saltspring has a severe housing shortage and he struggled to find a place for him and his beloved dog Rufus. When the opportunity to buy a trailer on St. Mary’s lake arose, he scrimped, saved worked two jobs and with a little help from family was able to purchase what he hoped would be a permanent home for him on Saltspring.   Sadly, the windstorm on December 20th destroyed Brian’s home. Thankfully, he was not home when a tree fell on his trailer; however, his dog and cat were and are still missing.

Brian has some insurance but we are not yet clear what will be covered. Please consider donating to help him with costs that he will face in the coming days and weeks.
