Brian's heart surgery support
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Tyler Piper and I'm trying to raise some money to help out my best friend Brian Phillips with his hospital bills after open heart surgery. Brian is an amazing man who would help anyone in the world with anything, even faced with challenges of his own he will always have a positive outlook and find a way to help someone even if he can't do it himself. With all the effort he puts into his family and friends I think it would be nice to finally give back to the man who has given so much to those around him. Donations of any amount are appreciated immensely, with all the money raised being used to help pay the medical bills that come with having such a serious surgery.
A little bit about Brian and what happened: Brian "the professional" Phillips is a husband and father who would do anything to see people around him happy, especially his family and friends. Brian is an outstanding host to all his friends on Sunday game nights, grilling food and making sure everyone is well fed and even providing drinks and snacks for as many people as are willing to stop by. He provides for his family even to his own detriment by making sure everyone else has things they need for school, work, and sports, before even taking himself into consideration. Even the man with the biggest and strongest heart wasn't able to resist the heart conditions that run in his family.
As for what happened and how it was caught before it was to late, this was Brian's story and perception of the events that unfolded. While working at the Knoxville Fareway one night Brian noticed severe chest pains so he decided it best to go to the hospital, even though he didn't want to leave to put more work on everyone there. After some reassurance from his coworkers that he should make sure everything was ok he reluctantly made his way to the hospital. On his way to the hospital he was having second thoughts and decided to give his brother a call to make sure this was serious and it wasn't just chest pains, his brother having a similar condition, told him to get to the hospital ASAP. When he got there they had told him that he didn't have a heart attack and he would probably be able to go back to work, when the test came back they noticed that he in fact did have a heart attack and was told they would be rushing him to the hospital in Des Moines. Upon arrival the doctors on staff informed Brian that he had several blockages that restricted blood flow too and from the heart, and because of the severity they wanted to operate, and preformed a triple bypass on Monday, March 18, 2024. Brian is currently out of surgery and doing well but wont be back to full speed for 4-6 more weeks, so until then we would like to cushion the blow that this will cause his family as much as we can.
