<div>We got the absolute best news possible! Brianne’s latest bone marrow test results indicate her first round of induction chemotherapy has knocked her Leukemia into remission! We have prayed for this and prayed hard.

<div>Although this is what we were hoping for that doesn’t mean this is the end. Brianne still has a long battle ahead of her. She will still undergo up to 5 rounds of chemotherapy in the coming months and possibly a stem cell transplant. The goal is to cure not keep in remission, as with her mutations she is at a very high risk for relapse.

<div>Brianne has been given the ok to be able to fly home to Ontario to continue treatment surrounded by family. Her second round of chemotherapy will start in a couple weeks at Princess Margaret.

<div>**Update #3- January 17, 2025

<div>We have waited a long 3 weeks to get back the final results of Brianne’s bone marrow test. This further panel, we were waiting on, was to indicate which gene mutations occurred to allow Brianne’s body to start making Leukemic cells. It unfortunately, was not at all the news we were hoping for. Brianne has 5 different gene mutations; FLT3, ASXL2, IDH2, RUNX1, PHF6. 4 of these mutations have a less than favourable prognosis and an increased risk for relapse. Brianne’s cancer doctor told us she has the worst and most aggressive form of Leukemia.

<div>Sometime next week Brianne will undergo another bone marrow test to see how her body has responded to this first round of induction chemotherapy. If the chemotherapy is working and her body has responded then she has been given a survival rate of 50%. In the event her body hasn’t responded then she sits at 30%. This isn’t the news we were all hoping for and it has hit us all hard. Brianne will require more chemotherapy treatments and a stem cell transplant. The hope is, to have the stem cell transplant after the second round of chemotherapy, as long as her Leukemia has been put into remission. Unfortunately, that doesn’t come without its own risks of side effects.

<div>Brianne has had a very rough few weeks. The past week has been extremely hard with different side effects she has experienced from chemotherapy. She’s struggled with severe stomach pain gas retention, zero appetite, severe exhaustion, weakness and fluid retention. She’s emotionally struggled with the loss of her hair, being away from her children and what life looks like from here.

<div>If Brianne’s levels come back up from this round, that are considered healthy enough, for her to fly home to Ontario then we are moving her and her family home to be closer to family. The funds raised so far will allow us to do that without worry of finances and will be put forward for rent/bills and groceries for the months to come while Brianne fights for her life. The funds have been set up to go to our mom, who will deal with her finances, so she can ensure things are taken care of while Brianne focuses on healing.

<div>We continue to pray for Brianne. Our prayers at the moment include a good outcome from this first round of chemotherapy, comfort and healing.

<div>**Update #2: Day 7 of Chemotherapy

<div>Brianne would like to thank everyone for their support. She wishes she could reach out to everyone individually and personally thank them. All the love and support are allowing her to focus on treatment and kicking Leukemias ass.

<div>Brianne’s first round of chemotherapy is an intensive induction round. For this round she will be in hospital for 4-6 weeks to receive the supports she needs for this intense first treatment. Between weeks 4-5 she will undergo her second bone marrow test. The results will tell us how her body is responding to chemotherapy. We pray for a good response and a reduction in Leukemic cells.

<div>Overall, through this round Brianne is kicking ass. Despite her exhaustion and the pain she’s experiencing she is in good spirits. She’s got this.

<div>In late November, Brianne sought medical care for shortness of breath for what she believed to be related to her asthma.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>For the following 3 weeks her symptoms progressed and she ended up in the Medicine Hat ER on December 16th, 2024.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>After multiple tests she was transferred to the Arthur J.E. Child Cancer Centre in Calgary, Alberta to undergo a bone marrow test.
</div>
<div>Within 24 hrs the preliminary testing came back and Brianne was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Full testing results will take up to 2 weeks before we know the full prognosis of her disease. What we do know at this moment, is that Brianne has a long road to recovery and while she seeks treatment she won’t be able to return to work.

<div>Brianne is a young 33 year old mother of two beautiful children, Mollyrae 6 and Hudson 4. Her and her partner/father of her children have been separated for a couple of years and have recently started to reconnect. Thankfully, Dustin will be there for his children and Brianne as an integral part of her support team.

<div>With this type of Leukemia being extremely aggressive, her treatment course will be intensive. She will begin her first round of chemotherapy on December 27th, as an inpatient, back at the Cancer centre in Calgary for 4-6 weeks, more than 3 hours from her family.
</div>

<div>She will have a two week break before starting her second round of chemotherapy for 4 weeks, again as an inpatient. This will repeat for up to 5 rounds. Once we know the full prognosis we will also know if she is a candidate for a stem cell transplant.

<div>While Brianne undergoes extensive treatment she will suffer physically, mentally and financially.
