B.R.I. : Brianna's recovery investment!

Our family is starting this page for Brianna Medina. She is a 19 year old sophomore at MGCCC. She has been a member of the Perk soccer team for the past two years. Brianna has been an athlete all of her life, especially excelling in soccer and cheerleading. Brianna was coming home from a movie on February 7th, 2014, when she was hit head on by a drunk driver going southbound on a northbound lane. The drunk driver hit another car first, and kept driving to then hit a second car which Brianna was the passenger in. She is currently at Gulfport Memorial Hospital on a breathing machine with sedation. She is suffering from multiple serious injuries; including a large laceration in her diaphragm, removed spleen, removed appendix, two bowel resections, closure of her abdomen, fractured cheek bone, broken ankle, leg, and knee, and a broken spine with no feeling in both legs. Although she has suffered from major injuries, she is being incredibly strong and exceeding all of our expectations and fighting with all of her might. As you can see, all of these medical issues will lead to months of hospital recovery, rehab, time away from work for her parents, and very costly medical bills.
