Brianna donated. Can you donate too?

Tax deductible
Our life was forever changed on March 18th when our daughter, Brianna Titterington, was in a car accident on her way to work at Greenfield’s Restaurant. Brianna also worked at Lost In Fun for two years and was well know by parents and their kids. Brianna was declared brain dead on the 19th and my decision for organ donation was immediately made. We spent three days optimizing her organs and on the 22nd, I watched my 17 year old daughter wheel away toward the elevator doors for surgery. We were given a chance to say goodbye, she entered the elevator, the doors closed, and that was the last time I say my first born daughter alive. People said I was so strong during all this time but really I had a job to do at those moments and that was to be her mom. She still needed me. So I did everything I could as a mother, and within reason, as a nurse to care my daughter. Brianna’s organs went to five different people. Let that sink in for a moment. Think of all the lives she touched. Their family, friends, coworkers, fellow students, teachers and so many more. This year, a 17 year old boy will walk across the stage to graduate with Brianna’s heart. In her final moments she held on long enough to give those gifts. She knew that would provide me strength and it did.

Brianna had struggled with depression in her middle school years at Norris. She attempted suicide in 8th. In her time at the hospital she was told things that rang true to her and she carried those messages with her. Her 9th grade year was pretty good. Then, sophomore year, she took off. Life was looking good. She met Harley, the love of her life. Junior year came and she was taking college credit classes. She had gone back and forth on what she wanted to do but it was always mental health related. Psychology at first but ended with working with kids in psychosocial trauma situations. I could not have been more proud of who she had grown to be and the strength it must have taken to get there. She was an amazing girl with a personality as fierce as a tiger. She loved fiercely and was kind. With that said she was not afraid to directly tell you what was on her mind or defend a friend.

We are raising money to setup an endowed scholarship at Norris High School through the foundation. This would offer a $500 scholarship to a student planning to attend a 2 year or longer college. We would be humbled and full of pure pride to be able to give this scholarship away year after year. Brianna has 4 siblings yet to graduate from Norris. What an honor for them to see her remembered during their senior year as a fellow student received this scholarship that was generously donated/raised by our community, friends, and family. The criteria is for a student who has overcome a barrier/obstacle in their life and would write and essay about this. We would require a letter or recommendation from a teacher, coach or leader. Their GPA and economic background would not be part of the criteria. Just someone who had walk a tough line and figured it out. We wanted a scholarship that maybe someone may have a hard time fitting the criteria of many of the other scholarships for one reason or another.

Please help us reach our goal! This is so important to us as we continue to spread Brianna’s legacy. She is forever a hero! Im so proud to call her my daughter! This has been an incredibly tough year for myself, Eric, each of our children, Harley, students of Norris, and her friends from around the community of Lincoln.

We are hoping she is able to have an open seat at graduation and her name called in order for an honorary diploma. That is a work in progress.

Thank you and god bless. We appreciate everyone’s compassion and support.
