Brian Clarke Cutting Cancer Fund

Donation protected
Brian Clarke, former Bloomsburg University football player who signed as a Preferred Free Agent with the Dallas Cowboys, suffered a hip flexor injury during training camp in Oxnard, California last August.  Thanks to that injury, the Cowboys' team doctor recognized in an x-ray that Brian had a tumor that needed immediate attention.  He was waived by the Cowboys and put on a red-eye flight to seek his own medical attention.
One of the first calls Brian made was to my husband, his position coach at Bloomsburg University, the other call was to his aunt, the sister of his deceased father and his primary family support.  By the time Brian's flight landed in Philadelphia eight hours later, we decided he should fight this battle at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore.  They operated within 24 hours and diagnosed Brian with Choriocarcinoma, a very rare and aggressive type of cancer.
Brian is a fighter.  He is now in a fight for his life.  He needs prayers and financial assistance to help defray the expenses he has incurred through his surgery and treatments.  His outstanding bills at this time are nearing $50,000.  He is currently receiving full brain radiation and is scheduled for more rounds of chemotherapy at Johns Hopkins.  These treatments will last until the end of April.  At that time it will be determined if Brian would be a candidate for a bone marrow transplant at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.
As you can see, Brian's battle has just begun.  We are entering the second quarter of this "game" and our opponent, the cancer, just "intercepted for a pick-6."  Lesions or tumors have been found in Brian's lungs, brain, liver and on his stomach.  Brian is doing everything he can to win this battle...as he has done through his football career.  This All-American, Gene Upshaw Award finalist, PSAC State Champion and Dallas Cowboy will not give up, nor will we.  Please help us defray his expenses so he can focus all of his energy and strength on getting back on the playing field.  And please keep him in your prayers!
