My sister living as a single mother was saving for a long time in hopes of one day buying a home and providing a better living situation for her 7-year-old son. She is one of the most kind, considerate, and giving people I know and has always been there to support those around her. On December 15th, right before Christmas my sister Briana became a victim of online hacking. To make matters worse, Chime Bank who she had been a customer with for over four years failed to notify her that her account had been compromised and the savings account she had spent years of hard work and persistence building had been erased. Hackers managed to invade her account and through 19 transactions in a span of hours drained over $12,000. After contacting Chime, through multiple emails and phone calls, all Chime was able to do was provide a simple "It's not our fault" resolution to an issue with their system. They refuse to investigate the hack into their system. A procedure which is common among other trusted banks. Not only my sister, but other people have similar stories of trusting in chime only for them to simply say, "It's not our fault". The also refuse to accept responsibility for the lack of security of their banking system and failed to protect my sister as a consumer.
If you are able, I ask for you could join me in supporting her in recovering from this devastating crime
I know she would greatly appreciate any support you could provide at this time.
The money would be used for relocation expenses and to reestablish an emergency fund that is a lifeline for most families, but especially for a single parent.
