Briana's Uganda Service Mission

Hi! My name is Briana Cullimore and if you are reading this, you have been someone special in our family's life. I am finishing my last semester at BYU majoring in Social Studies Teaching. In the fall I will be doing my student teaching in Washington DC. After 4 years of hard work I am very close to becoming a high school history or economics teacher and hopefully a golf coach.
But before I get there I would like to accomplish one other goal. A passion I have developed since being in college is economic development. This has led me to researching organizations that help people in impoverished countries through sustainable development projects.
I am raising money to go on a service trip to Uganda through an organization called Help International (http://help-international.org). With the help of volunteers, this organzation designs and executes poverty relief programs in Uganda including: water well programs in locations destitute of safe drinking water, public health interventions to decrease the spread of infectious diseases, micro-business teaching and mentoring to help individuals design and scale up small businesses, empowerment camps and workshops for at-risk youth and children rescued from child labor and other forms of exploitation. Other grassroots initiatives include dental and eye camps, eye screenings, and nutrition screening.
My goal is to raise $3000 which goes toward the projects that I will be working on and organization fees. I have worked hard this past year saving up money but still need help.
