Brian Rippey Medical Fund

As most of you already know, Brian had surgery to repair his aorta three weeks ago. Brian knew that the surgery was extensive and, like all surgeries, came with risks. Some time during the surgery one of those risks occurred and Brian suffered a spinal cord stroke. This has left Brian without the use of his legs to ambulate and the doctors have stated that it is likely permanent.

Looking ahead, besides recovering from the surgery, Brian will be undergoing extensive rehabilitative therapy over the next several months. This will likely take place in Wausau, WI and will allow him to advance as far as his body will allow. It does seem likely that Brian will require the use of a wheelchair to get around in the future.

The major life change for Brian and his wife, Lori, will create a new “normal” for them. This will likely include remodeling their home and the purchase of a wheelchair accessible vehicle. These costs, along with being away from home for surgery recovery and rehabilitation can be staggering. It is my wish that Brian and Lori not have to worry about the costs of what they are facing in the near future.
