Brian Hoak's Medical Care

Our friend Brian was diagnosed with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, cirrhosis along with hemochromotosis and macro anemia in June of this year.  Since then he has been unable to work. He is getting disability from his former employer but it will end in 2 months. He is currently being treated with numerous medications, gets bloodwork tests frequently and travels to Pittsburgh to see a specialist.  It could be 6 months to a year before he is placed on a liver transplant list if his current treatment is unsuccessful it will lead to liver failure.  The hemochromotosis causes his body to absorb too much iron and the excessive iron is stored in his liver which causes liver disease. He experiences frequent nausea, weakness, jaundice, has had extreme weight loss and has no appetite. Brian takes care of his 2 children and his grandaughter. He recently found out that he is being evicted from his home. If you can find it in your heart to make a donation, any amount that you can, no amount is too small, it would be greatly appreciated. He has medical bills, travel expenses, everyday living expenses and also his family that he needs to take care of.  It's been a very difficult time for him and he really needs the support and help from the community!!
