Bri's Beatdown Benefit (Crowdkilling with AVM)

One of my best friends (Brianna Meek) was diagnosed with AVM years ago. AVM- otherwise known as spinal arteriovenous malformation- is a rare, abnormal tangle of blood vessels on, in or near the spinal cord. This condition can cause permanent damage to the spinal cord, and can sometimes lead to disability or other complications.
In Bri’s case, a mass formed and caused her to receive open-spine surgery. Twice. In the same week. Her condition has progressed to the point that she may have lost her ability to walk. Regardless, she requires extensive physical therapy and rehab.
Of course, her hospital stay along with her surgeries and rehabilitation have amassed a great deal of medical bills. That’s where she needs help.
We are well aware that the medical system in our country is flawed, and that those with medical issues are forced to suffer in massive amounts of debt simply because they chose to live (with the help of medical professionals). Bri is an amazing young woman with tons of potential who deserves absolutely none of her medical debt.
Bri has lived an active lifestyle that includes having a robust social life, pennyboarding, moshing, and supporting the local music scene. She will always continue to do these things. She deserves to continue this lifestyle without the stress of medical debt.
