Help Bret & Jen after Maria

Sorry to have to ask.  

After the first storm (Irma) knocked out power on Vieques for 9 days, we dealt with the challenges associated with a being a type 1 diabetic and keeping our 6 year old son happy with Chef Boyardee, cold, out of the can.  We were safe and relatively happy.  Strangers with generators were dropping off bags of ice to keep my insulin cold.

Recognizing the second storm  was coming (Maria), we decided that Zaiden and I would evacuate.  Jennifer wanted to stay behind to watch our pets, our home and the homes of others.

The storm desimated the house where we were living.  Jennifer moved to a friends home that still has windows and doors.  She has now been on Vieques for 2 weeks with no power, water and very limited communication.  She has no access to cash and without internet, credit/debit cards do not work. People without medical emergencies have slowly been evacuating, but the costs have been in the $2000 range.  Supplies have been coming in, but I want to get Jennifer off of the island.  

Zaiden and I were fortunate to fly into NYC with a handul of shorts, tee shirts and flip flops. We need to invest in warmer clothing and supplies.  We will need to do the same for Jennifer for when she is able to return.
