Bret Harte Scholarship Fund

Donation protected
Hello and welcome to Year Three of the Harte Scholarship Fund page. The Harte Scholarship fund is intended to assist Chicago’s Bret Harte Elementary School alumni who have graduated high school and are currently enrolled in 2 or 4 year undergraduate programs.
The funds raised will be used by Harte alumni to address any financial hurdles they face in earning their undergraduate degrees, such as paying for books/materials, technology, room, board, transportation, etc.
Comprised of a student population that is 88% Black, 8% Hispanic, 2% White and 1% Asian, Bret Harte School proudly educates students from a variety of neighborhoods on the South Side of Chicago.
The goal of this fund is to ensure that an alum from Harte School has a more equitable opportunity to earn an undergraduate degree.
We would greatly appreciate a donation to help support our young, deserving Chicagoans. Thank you very much.

Dear Harte Scholarship Donors,

I am truly honored to have been chosen as a recipient for this scholarship. It is heartwarming to be acknowledged by the Bret Harte community, and to know that I still have continued support from the faculty.

This scholarship will certainly alleviate the financial stress of paying for college, and will allow me to focus more on my studies, as I am entering my final year of undergrad. I am very excited to continue my journey on to senior year! Thank you all so much for your time and consideration. I will continue to work hard and make you all proud!

Sincerely,
   Kyleigh McDavis

      ¨Dear Harte Scholarship Donors,

Thank you all so much for awarding me the Harte Scholarship!

Attending Bret Harte Elementary School played a significant role in shaping the student I am today and knowing that the Harte community is still providing the same support and care for my education is both heartwarming and motivational. Receiving this scholarship has alleviated some of the stress of paying for college and on behalf of my family, I would like to thank you all again.¨
