Brent Chamberlain - Missing Person

My brother, Brent, went missing in February 2019 while traveling in Italy. I am starting this fundraiser in an effort to find him. At the time he went missing, he had been dealing with some challenges, both personal and professional. For months, I worked tirelessly to figure out what happened. I was running down leads and slowly putting the pieces together but always ending up at yet another dead end. Eventually, the enormous weight of Brent's dissapearance, my fruitless search for answers, and simply not knowing wore me down to a level of despair and hopelessness I had never experienced.
The following is an excerpt from something Brent wrote a while back:
His mother ran ahead, clutching a baby sister in her arms. He and his brother struggled after her, feet sticking in the warm furrows of mud between the corn, grown higher than expected in late July. The summer moon stood sentry in a dim blue sky, streaked red by the setting sun. A drooping leaf of a corn stalk brushed by the child’s brown-eyed face, its coarse edge grazing the pink cheek.
“Mommy, don’t go fast” the child whispered, as he grasped the arm of his blue-eyed brother whose tiny feet struggled in the mud. She continued ahead, resolute and unhearing. “My shoe’s stucked,” his little brother whined. Brent turned his brown eyes imploringly to the back of his mother’s skirt, then dropped to his knees beside his brother. Brian’s bare foot had slipped from the loosely velcroed shoe, which sunk deeper into the mud.
Growing up, Brent was the protector, the decision maker, the parental figure. In the midst of chaos, he was reliable. Now it's time for me to be that for him. I don't know what I will find when I go to Italy, but I know it will at least help heal the pain that I feel every day. I want my son, Bear, to know his Uncle Brent. I want Brent to heal and know he is loved.
All proceeds from this fund will go towards helping find Brent. This includes my travel to Italy in December to meet with Italian and U.S. authorities in Venice and Florence, and any fees associated with the investigation and Brent's safe return.
