Brenda's Beating Lung Cancer Fund

I have just been diagnosed with Stage 3b lung cancer. Thankfully, the cancer has not spread to other organs. Nevertheless, this is not an easy cancer to beat, though because I am still young, healthy, active, and have been a nonsmoker for thirty-five years I have a good shot of making a full recovery.  I'm doing everything I can to increase my chances of doing just that.
My first step is getting what is called an Online Second Opinion from Dana Farber in Boston, a world renowned cancer center, to aid my doctor in my treatment. This costs $2,000. I have a fund on Facebook, also. But I will need additional monies to cover my portion of what I'm sure are going to be astronomical bills even after insurance. I have seven weeks of radiation and chemo to start, then immunotherapy after that for an unspecified amount of time.  I need donations as soon as possible for the Dana Farber Second Opinion. The rest can come as I'm in treatment and recovery and as the bills start to roll in.
I don't think that individuals who are faced with a disease they didn't ask for should have to spend the rest of their lives paying medical bills. I took care of myself, ate right, lived right, and I still got this terrible disease. When I've looked this in the eye, fought it down, and won and am then ready to get back to the wonderful life I built that has been rudely interrupted, I don't want to have to sacrifice any more of it because I am swamped with medical bills.
