The legacy of Brenda Bryant Young will live on through the many lives she touched. Her Christian walk exemplified in a quiet and powerful way how the lives of people can be impacted for good with humility and grace.
It was the quiet things Brenda did throughout her life that made such a powerful difference among the many lives God allowed her to touch. For example, her unwavering commitment to the sick, homebound, and less fortunate, and the countless visits she made to and services she provided for the disabled; services that included assisting them with paying their bills, escorting them to doctor appointments, and constantly mailing positive thoughts and best wishes through cards and other venues. Brenda made a difference in the lives of many.
The Brenda Bryant Young Servant Benefit aims to continue Brenda's legacy and spirit of giving. Two (2) ministries Brenda regularly contributed towards was LifeLIne Ministries; a ministry that provides life skills training and faith-based counseling services to poor and working class families/individuals, and the Essie Wade Scholarship Fund; a scholarship fund that provides financial assistance for college bound students from low income households. By continuing Brenda's spirit of giving, the Brenda Bryant Young Servant Benefit will continue to positively impact the lives of families and individuals.
We will come together in a joint worship service on Sunday, August 13, 2017 - 3:00 PM at the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 3777 Wilcox Blvd., Chattanooga, TN 37411 where the Rev. Wayne L. Johnson serves as senior pastor. We will worship God together and thank Him for the time He allowed Brenda to share with us on this earth.
As the Widower of Brenda Bryant Young, I am eternally grateful for all of those that have joined me in this cause, a cause that serves not only as a way to continue her legacy, but an opportunity for ongoing healing as the God of all comforts continues to comfort me and bring people into my life that can provide the same comfort God provided them.
To God be the glory!
