Bree is wonderful. She is ridiculously talented, has the most generous heart, and is STRONG. So strong, in fact, that most of you probably don't even know the intensity of the pain she's been experiencing for the last few years. Let me fill you in!
Three years ago, she was beginning her journey as a full-time missionary (exhibit A of her beautiful heart) when she started to feel unwell. The illness began with intense, daily migraines and symptoms similar to food poisoning. After four weeks of unbearable pain, a friend on the mission field booked her a flight home. Assuming it was a foreign parasite, she was hopeful that returning home would be the start of recovery, but after dozens of tests and no answers, it seemed that health was nowhere in sight. The pain and weakness increased- leaving her unable to walk across her room alone. Even on her good days, she couldn't drive because of the severe pain and muscle tightness. Bree had undergone blood test after blood test, MRI after MRI, doctor visit after doctor visit, and STILL, her muscle aches and exhaustion persisted. She had drastically changed her life in hopes of eliminating the pain, but nothing had helped- until she found the Arp Wave (a machine that stimulates her muscles to keep them from constantly contracting). This machine has literally changed her life. Although nobody has found the root cause of the pain, this machine helps Bree to live more of a normal life. She is now able to drive and work, and she's even been back on the mission field forming relationships and helping people in need. It's been a miracle.
However, her health insurance doesn't cover use of the Arp Wave. She and her husband, Erik, have appealed their decision three times to no avail. The only choice they have is to pay out-of-pocket for the machine, so that's why I made this gofundme page! Bree needs this machine to live a normal life: to drive, take photographs (by the way, she's a topnotch photographer), serve people, spend time with friends, care for her niece, and so much more. Bree is an amazing person with so many gifts and abilities, and I'd love to help her live them out to the fullest! Any amount helps!
