Breathing Room for Ryan

Ryan was hopitalized for the second time this year due to a blood infection. The illness has now affected his heart and he is scheduled for open-heart surgery. This will be followed by a long recovery. It is uncertain how long this will take, but it will be a few months at least before he can return to work. Meanwhile, Bethany has recently started a new job but is unable to be there full-time so she can spend time taking care of their infant daughter, Raven, and her husband. Few families would be able to manage the loss of income for even a week or two. As it is, despite insurance coverage and help from family and friends, the Cook family is struggling to make ends meet and are facing losing their home.
