In 2015, my mom was diagnosed with interstitial lung disease with pulmonary fibrosis. Basically, it is irreversible scarring of the lungs. Since then she has had to see her pulmonologist every three months, and has been on a very high dose of a specialized immunosuppressants daily every day since then to try and prevent progression as much as possible. This disease is irreversible. Over the past 6 months her condition has worsened. In September 2017 she was hospitalized for the first time with her first "flare up" of the disease. Upon leaving the hospital, she became fully dependent on oxygen.
This past Saturday, November 25th, she was rushed to the emergency room due to her second "flare up". She was transferred to Temple University Hospital where she is currently intubated and sedated. We are not sure of when the exact date is of when they'll wake her up, but most importantly her body is getting the rest it needs to get strong again to keep fighting. She was just approved and placed on the UNOS list for a lung transplant. We are trusting and believing in God that lungs will become available ASAP.
Her road to recovery is going to be extremely long and hard, but with God all things are possible and it is He who will give us as a family and her the strength to get through this. We are trusting and believing fully in Him to carry us through.
My mom has taken care of my sister and I our whole lives, and more specifically since my dad passed away in 2009. She has tried to make our lives as normal as possible by giving us whatever we need. She has helped my husband and I in more ways than I could ever count. I just want to be able to help her and give back because of what she has done for us her whole life.
All money earned will be going towards her bills and finances to help at home because she will be out of work for a very long time, they will also go to any financial burdens that may occur in the future from medical bills. Every penny will be going to her.
I know how hard it is with the holidays coming up, but my sister and I appreciate and are so very grateful for any help that is donated. I know my mom would to. Thank you SO SO SO very much! God bless.
