My name is Melissa and I'm 40 yrs young. I am a blessed and happy woman! My life was beautiful and I could never ask for anything better. I've been blessed with 7 children, 2 grandbabies and the most adoring and loving husband. My life was "my" perfect until I was blindsided....
In 2016 at 38 yr. old I was diagnosed with Triple Negative breast cancer and found out I was BRCA 2 positive as well. They said I was only a stage one, but the triple negative makes it an aggressive form. I underwent vigorous chemotherapy and had a double mastectomy. I remained positive and believed that God would heal me and he did! I was declared cancer free Dec.2016 and was left to learn how to live after cancer. Life is beautiful to me and I soak up every moment, but It was hard, I was in fear it would come back. All my doctors said my reccurance chance was very very very low, but something deep down didn't feel right..
Jump to August of 2018...i was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer that moved into my lungs. Once again I was told the daunting news, but this time they tell me there's no cure and I have 14 months to live! Well, I will not accept that at all. I'm a woman of God who has a whole lot of FAITH and I'm not backing down, cowering or dying from this UGLY cancer! I believe my God is bigger than cancer and he will heal me again!
The reason I'm doing a GoFundMe is because I have a journey ahead of me and we are on a fixed income. Right now we drive 2.5 hours to and from the hospital, but I will most likely be doing a clinical trial which can take me anywhere in the U.S.. As of know I'm in talks with a hospital in Nashville and Baltimore. I had no idea what amount to put on here, but every penny will help ❤ I'm going to fight like a warrior and I will overcome because Gods in my corner! If you can't donate, I ask for your prayers. Prayers are so very powerful!!
