Breanna's Transplant Journey

As many of you know, our sister, Breanna, has been fighting leukemia (CML) for 5 1/2 years. She is not responding to the chemotherapy and doctors have indicated it's now time for a bone marrow transplant.
Leading up to the transplant, Breanna and a caregiver will need to travel into Seattle daily for tests. After the transplant she will need to spend a full month at the University of Washington Medical Center, followed by an extended three month stay in the Seattle area for continued monitoring and tests. This will result in substantial extra costs for Breanna, primarily for housing, meals, parking, etc.
Breanna has always been active and outgoing; she inherited the trait to make friends wherever she goes from our dad. Whether it's cooking her well-loved tamales or playing with her grandkids, her kindness and sense of humor is a warmth that everyone feels. With that, this diagnosis has taken a significant toll on her quality of life and the things she loves to do. Even in the moments of exhaustion and sickness, her focus is still on how she can be of help to her family and grandkids and on making this journey easier on them.
We are asking for help so we can give back to Breanna: whether that help is adding her to your prayer chain, reaching out to her and perhaps bringing her a meal, or helping offset the extra costs associated with this new round of treatment, the family appreciates any assistance you can provide.
