</div>
<div><strong>Hintergrund: </strong>
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Was wir brauchen:</strong>
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Unser Ziel:</strong>
</div>
<div>Unser Ziel?
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>(€1,500 is allocated for music production, €500 for color grading, and €500 for the organization and distribution of the film.)

<div><strong><em>English version </em></strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong><em>"CRESCER EM SILÊNCIO" / "GROWING IN SILENCE" – a poetic short documentary about young Mozambican Yara, who finds the courage to break the silence about her mental health struggles and to seek healing. A film that encourages others to seek help and speak up. In just 20 minutes, you get to know Yara, who through this film letter, breaks the silence with her mother, whom she has never been able to talk to about her mental health issues.</em></strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Background:</strong>
</div>
<div>In Mozambique and many other African countries, mental health issues are often explained as spiritual phenomena or dismissed as "White people's problems," which makes it extremely hard for those affected to access help. There is also often fear and distrust towards psychological support within the African diaspora, and experiences of racism further impact the mental health of Black people. Our film aims to address this directly: we want to talk openly about depression and suicidal thoughts, break taboos, and reduce the stigma around mental health in Black communities.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>What We Need:</strong>
</div>
<div>Our film is a non-profit project, but funding is essential for its completion and, above all, for its distribution. The short doc is almost complete—thanks to our own resources and support from the Goethe-Institut, we have come a long way. Now, we just need sound design, color grading, and the final funding to bring the film into the world!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>For this intimate and atmospheric film, we hope to collaborate with well-known Mozambican musician Lenna Bahule, whose music will make Yara's inner world audible. Crescer em Silêncio takes the audience deep into Yara's inner self. We believe that Lenna Bahule and our sound designer Ben Jacov are the ideal artists to create a unique soundscape that brings out Yara's cultural background and inner world.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>David Groß, who also directed the cinematography, will handle the color grading, which is essential to give the film its final polish, enhance its atmosphere, and underscore the emotional nuances of the story.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Our Goal:</strong>
</div>
<div>Our goal? To bring Crescer em Silêncio to film festivals, community screenings, and educational projects in Germany and Mozambique, sparking discussions with mental health experts. We also need funds for festival submissions and event organization! With your support, we can finish this intimate film project and bring it to the big screen and into different communities. Every contribution brings us closer to our goal and helps break down the taboos around mental health.
