Breaking the Bank for Brock

On March 7, 2018, my sweet nephew Brock was diagnosed with T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Brock is just 6 years old. 

As unfortunate as a cancer diagnosis is, they caught Brock's early enough that his immediate chemo treatments have already started helping. He went into the hospital on March 7th with tumors on his airway that constricted his breathing. These tumors prevented them from putting Brock under anestheisa to perform the necessary bone marrow biopsy. Just a few short days later, and the chemo had shrunk the tumors so much they were barely visible on the x-ray. His breathing was completely normal and they can now schedule his procedure.  

The downside to all this, is that Brock has cancer. Something a parent never wants to hear their child has. He, and his family, have a very rough road ahead. Treatments last for 3-5 years to ensure that the cancer is completely in remission. Not only are there the treatments, but there is also the complete change of life for a bright, happy 6 year old who can no longer do some of the things he loves for fear of infection due to his weakened immune system. The good news, is that this type of leukemia is treatable and the prognosis is very good for kids his age.

It's difficult to watch a child go through something like this when they have a hard time understanding what is happening to them. We all know what a drain medical bills can be on finances, so I've started this fundraising campaign to help raise money for Brian and Christa to cover the hospital stays and other medical expenses related to his chemotherapy and check-ups over the next few years.
