Break In is a Crime Comedy that follows Catherine, a woman who goes to great lengths exploring the disparity between how the thoughts in her head and her actions in reality affect her self worth.
This optimistic thief goes from binge watching couch surfer to undercover double agent, preparing for the break in of her life.
Written by playwright Amy Dellagiarino, Break In is a quick paced comedic one-act play, where getting sucked into the mind of a loner never felt so good.
Unlike other solo performances that utilize the creation of several characters and vignettes designed to speak directly to the audience, this one-woman show uses voice over, music and sound effects as an alternate convention.
The audience silently follows Catherine on stage as we hear the thoughts in her head that provoke questions like: How in touch with reality are we?
Through a rollercoaster ride of emotional and physical obstacles all leading to her subsequent arrest, the words she has been dying to say finally escape Catherine bringing her back to reality. Is this break in real or all in her head?
