Help Abby Raise Some Dough

My News:
Many of you know me as the former Pastry Chef of Dai Due. I'm very excited about the newest title I'm taking on this year: Instructor! You may have noticed that I'm starting a lineup of baking workshops! Yes, for YOU! Part of my 2018 mission is to make delicious, fresh homemade bread accessible to anyone who wants to try baking. I'll teach classes and workshops using the EXACT tools and tricks that I have honed as a professional bread baker for a decade.


The Ask:
I need your help. This GoFundMe campaign will raise the money I need to buy the necessary equipment to start offering the Doughpest bread (and other baking) classes around. The varying bits of small-to-medium equipment I'll need for full classes--like digital scales, thermometers, mixing bowls, bench scrapers, rolling pins and bannetons to name a few-- will cost about $5,000. Getting these funds in the next few weeks will enable me to start teaching on the highest level.  

If donating to a needy acquaintance isn't your thing, fear not! You can Pre Purchase a Class to the tune of $85. What a deal! Most single classes (multi-day workshops not included) will start at this price but may cost more depending on the subject matter and timeline, so you could be getting a steal! You will receive advanced notice of class schedules and your space(s) will be reserved before classes are released to the public! This way, I can get the equipment we both need to make your class the BEST.


What's Next?
You might be wondering Is this the big Comeback you've been teasing on social media? Well, the answer is....kind of! BECAUSE THERE'S MORE. Y'all know that I have dreamed of starting my own bakery for many moons now. Last year, I gave it a name. This year, I want to give it life! You read that right: L'Oven is on its way to becoming a reality, and this campaign will help outfit me for classes now as well as the bigger operation on the horizon. Knowledge sharing and community engagement will ALWAYS be a part of our model; your contribution now will set L'Oven on the right foundation--one comprised of real people making real food together.

Those of you who know me personally know how important these elements --knowledge sharing and community engagement --are to the way I function and will be for L'Oven as well. More than just baking and selling delicious bread, I want to be a part of tightening the food community here in central Texas. Actually, tightening almost any community, and I believe food is one of the most fundamental ways to do that.

When we (and YOU are a part of this WE) get L'Oven off the ground, I can finally stop disappointing you every time we run into each other. Yes! I will say. I AM baking with L'Oven! And you CAN get some delicious bread! And I will also TEACH you how to do it a bit yourself--straight from the source! Won't that be great? I think it will be really great.
