Hey! My name is Bray. A lot of you might know me by my stage name, Brooklyn West. I am a non-binary, trans masculine person from The Bahamas seeking help to pay for top surgery.

In 2012 my mother was diagnosed with vascular dementia and I had to move back home to become her full-time caregiver. I haven't had a job since 2012 because my mother requires 24-hour care that isn't available in The Bahamas.

Over these past 9 years I’ve been so focused on making sure my mom has everything she needs that I forgot to make sure I was good physically and mentally. Having top surgery would drastically lessen my gender dysphoria and help me to feel more at home in my body. The more comfortable I feel in my body, the better my mental health will be to continue to take care of my mom.

I have some money saved to go towards my surgery but it's nowhere near what I need to have for surgery and all that comes with it. I will be having my surgery done in Plano, Texas by Dr. Alan Dulin and they require me to stay in Plano for 9 days following the procedure. I won't be able to do any heavy lifting or moving around for 2 months which means I would need a caregiver for both my mother and I.
