Bray for Love

Energised by the Black Lives Matter protests across America and the testimonies of Irish Black people and People of Colour, we are a group of local activists from diverse backgrounds, who have come together with a common goal; to combat racism and hate speech in our local area and foster a sense of community and mutual respect. We strive to call out racism, racist language and other hate speech where we see it and ensure that all members of the community are valued and safe. 

Over the past few years, racist, anti-immigration far-right groups have become more vocal and audacious - in our own town over the last month there has been a torrent of ugly graffiti containing racist and homophobic messages.

The graffiti creates an atmosphere in the town which is unwelcoming to visitors, tourists and most importantly, to the many Bray residents who are Black or People of Colour.

We have created a Bray for Love Campaign which sends a clear message to the far-right groups responsible; you do not speak for us, Bray is a vibrant, open-hearted, diverse and welcoming community.

This fundraiser will provide funds to print stickers and badges so that there is a visual reminder as people visit businesses and walk the streets that there is no place in our town for racism, homophobia and hate.
