Brave the Shave for McMillan and Debbie Hockley

Donation protected
Hi everyone,
I’m Gemma, I have decided to brave the shave to raise as much money as possible for both the McMillan charity and to help my Auntie Debbie Hockley through this difficult time. Any money raised will be divided equally between the charity and Debbie to help with the cost of travel and anything she needs during her illness.

Recently Debbie has been diagnosed with breast cancer and will start Chemotherapy on the 4th of December. My Auntie Debbie is loved buy many and Debbie is one of the strongest people I know and many who know her would agree. Debbie is not someone to sugarcoat things and always faces things head on. One of her favourite sayings to me is “tough titty fish face”. Debbie has always been someone who takes pride in her appearance. She is someone that always gets up, gets on and puts a bit of lip on.

Throughout the years since leaving high school I have done some wacky things with my hair. It has been red, blue and purple, not to mention the extension, wigs and even dreadlocks. So it seemed like the most obvious way I could support my wonderful Auntie Debbie. I want her to know that hair is just hair and she is beautiful inside and out and we are in this together.

I will go live on FB on 9th January 2021 and be filmed braving the shave. I am hoping to make a bit of an event out of it and have some local bands play some music before and after for everyone to enjoy. If you play in  band and would like to provide some entertainment please contact Gemma.

If you would like to support please donate or share the word and join the event.
