Bradley Brewer vs. The Brain Tumor

Donation protected
Bradley is a 10-year old boy with autism that was diagnosed with a Craniopharyngioma, a very rare type of brain tumor.   Bradley was most likely born with this tumor but started showing symptoms 7 months ago with horrible side effects and misdiagnosis along the way. Bradley’s symptoms included poor sleep, nausea, vomiting, and painful headaches. Unfortunately, even after Bradley started collapsing, his neurologist refused to order an MRI due to his "autism ". Finally, Bradley’s pediatrician stepped in and ordered an MRI which correctly identified his brain tumor. September 12th, 2017 changed the lives of Bradley,  his brother, sister, mom and dad, forever.

Bradley had surgery to remove a tennis ball sized tumor from his brain on September 18th, 2017 at UW Madison Children's Hospital. With his family by his side, Bradley spent a total of 32 days in the hospital. Post-surgery, Bradley suffered several complications, including two additional surgeries. Bradley will now require life-long assisted care and medication due to good cells in the pituitary gland being killed off by the tumor. The pituitary gland governs five functions in the body; we currently know he has 3 deficits. The other 2 remain to be seen but we can assume he will have them as well. Also, the Endocrinologist Team, trying to figure out how to manage his diabetes insipidus and other hormonal imbalances that were caused by the tumor.  Bradley will need to get an MRI every 3 months for the first two years to make sure that the tumor does not reappear.

The medical staff comments regularly on what a remarkably happy child Bradley has been through this whole ordeal. It will be awhile before Bradley is allowed to do his favorite thing, which is swimming. Bradley likes drawing and watching "The Wiggles" on his IPad.  Also, because of his autism, he uses his IPad to communicate with others.

Bradley’s brother, sister, mother and father appreciate your donation as these funds will defray accumulated medical costs up to date and in the future. Each day unexpected costs keep arising in addition to lost wages from his parents while not working in order to provide 24 hour care. If you could please find it in your heart to donate as much as you can comfortably afford, any and all donations will be extremely appreciated and used only for Bradley's current and future medical related expenses.
