Brasil floods - Help my parents to recover

Hello everyone,

I’m not sure if you’ve seen but at the start of May my home state in Brasil, Rio Grande do Sul, was hit with catastrophic floods. The neighbourhood I grew up in, Cinco Colonias in Canoas, was one of the worst hit areas.

My parents house, our family home for 35 years, was almost completely submerged. The water level has been at 4-5 metres for 3 weeks now. It’s only started to recede in the last few days and the neighbourhood is still inaccessible except by boat.

It’s difficult to put into words the devastation of what has happened in Rio Grande do Sul. In the first 24 hours life changed for millions of people.

I can only focus on my family. My parents house is going to need so much work, on the structure, the walls and interiors and I have promised my Mum I will try to raise money to help them with these restorations.

I appreciate any donations however small to help them recover.

I will add photos in the coming days when access to the house becomes possible.
